Artezio and Facebook to Develop Long-Term Partnership
Artezio and Facebook are assessing the prospects for collaboration on long-term partner projects. In a meeting with Claudia Fernandes, Facebook Business Development Manager, Artezio representatives discussed the company’s participation in special initiatives introduced by the social network and programs for the leading developers.
Speaking of cooperation in public social projects, the representatives of both companies raised the issue of interaction in the Free Basics initiative. This project allows people to get free access to information or internet services.
“Artezio has its own developments that can significantly enhance the value of Free Basics for people all over the globe. Based on uber-technologies, we have built a system that makes mutual help a real phenomenon in the society and allows finding people who are in trouble faster as well as solve their problems. Together with Facebook, we are discussing an opportunity to provide people with access to this solution even in such locations where internet access may be limited”, says Sergey Pavlov, Artezio CTO.
“Free Basics was launched two years ago, and Facebook, along with other project participants, aims at increasing penetration of the net in all countries of the world. We created this project to show everyone how to use the internet. As we provide people with an opportunity to access websites related to any field they require, we hope that they will develop habits of using the net and turn to the internet for help more often”, notes Claudia Fernandes.
In addition to Free Basics, Facebook collaborates with software developers through special programs.
“We have a large number of means for developers’ integration with Facebook as well as tools for website designers. And that’s not only Free Basics, but also many other projects. We collaborate with a large number of development centers and run numerous active projects. However, don’t forget that we are a small company: for example, Google has about 100,000 employees, and we employ only 15,000. We don’t have enough people in all markets to work face to face, but at the same time we are trying to make our tools scalable”, says Claudia Fernandes.
The negotiations conducted between Artezio and Facebook will result in common projects that will be announced as soon as they are approved.
